Scotland’s only direct service to China will now operate year-round as Hainan Airlines continues to extend its presence at Edinburgh Airport
The airline’s current March to October service between Edinburgh and Beijing will now continue throughout the year, operating twice-a-week on Mondays and Fridays on an A330.
All passengers passing through Edinburgh Airport can now keep liquids and large electricals in their bags, thanks to the completion of a multi-million-pound project to install eight new security scanners, by adding an additional two lanes.
Liquids still need to be 100ml or under but can remain in bags. This means the airport will no longer issue single-use plastic bags, delivering a sustainability benefit through the project. Travellers should note however, that there is not a uniform position at airports across the UK and the rest of the world – and passengers should check security rules at their return destination.
