Newmarket Holidays recorded its best booking day since February, with weekly sales outperforming 2019 and 2022.
The last day in July saw the escorted tour specialist enjoy more sales than any day since the opening weeks of the year, with group holidays to Elvis Presley’s America and South African safaris leading the way, followed by tours to Italy, Egypt and India.
Exclusive packages to next year’s Wimbledon tennis tournament also featured in the most-booked breaks.
David Sharman, Chief Commercial Officer at Newmarket Holidays said: “We have seen a surge in bookings for both 2023 and 2024 tours, reflecting people’s desire to make up for the disappointment of wet summer in the UK and to book in wishlist experiences they can start looking forward to.
“Sales for the week were higher than the same periods in 2019 and 2022, confirming a return to pre-COVID travel confidence and suggesting that people are booking ahead to help with their finances.
“No matter what hurdles this year throws at them, people keep on demonstrating a huge appetite to travel.”
