Q & A Travel Matters speaks to… Brandon Davis, Sales Manager, UK & Ireland Air Transat

Tell us about your career to date and what attracted you to the role at Air Transat?
I’ve been working in the travel industry for almost 25 years, first as a tour leader and tour operator, before moving into aviation. As a native Torontonian living in London, Air Transat is an airline that’s been close to my heart for many years, so when the position became available, I absolutely had to go for it. Thankfully the team here agreed!

What are your short- and medium-term goals for the role and the business?
First and foremost, to continue to develop our distribution with the trade through all channels. As the World’s Best Leisure Airline as voted by Skytrax, we are perfectly placed to carry passengers that expect a high level of service, which is exactly matched Looking further ahead, we are growing our network via our hubs in Toronto and Montreal to offer our passengers seamless connectivity across The Americas.

What ways can Air Transat best serve the trade?
By continuing to constantly strive for and consistently deliver the best service on the road with our trade partners and in the sky between the UK and Canada.

What can we expect from Air Transat going forward?
Our joint venture partnership with Porter Airlines is the cornerstone of our growth strategy. We continue to grow our transatlantic and South American routes, opening further international capacity to feed into the ever-growing Porter network across Canada and the US. There is also the small matter of a rather well-known football tournament being hosted in Canada next year.

Do you have a favourite Air Transat destination?
There is only one answer I can give here and that’s my hometown of Toronto. The ‘Nicer New York’ is the beating heart of modern Canadian culture which has matured into a buzzing 24-hour megacity in the last couple of decades. There is so much more than the (of course iconic!) CN Tower and Niagara Falls – including world class dining, entertainment, sports, nightlife and the gateway to some of the best outdoor experiences in the world.
